Dave: We have one of these in gray raiding the bird feeders right now. I let it feed for a few minutes before shooing it off. It then leaps straight off the deck into the snow to make its getaway. Probably 12-15 feet to the ground. It leaves quite a deep impression in the snow. It's amazing to watch.

Amazing details and composition. Saw a few red squirrels on my travels over the past month, they never stay in the same place long enough. This is a great pose, only have grey squirrels near where I live, they are always on the move also (slow camera). Wonderful photograph.

Hi Emmanuel! Thanks for the comments! We're having a really nice fall here, but most of the leaves are down and the nights are getting cooler, so I guess winter is on it's way! That Olympus Tcon 1.7 seems to be a great quality in front of lens optical device.
If this is Eq of 600mm lens,must say Fantastic result.

Magnificent image Dave, so sharp right across his body. Can't make out a reflection of you in his eye though. These guys are almost extinct in the UK now since the introduction of the grey squirrell who have decimated the reds. Last time I saw a red was 73 and that was in Scotland.

A beautiful wildlife pic, Dave. I have only seen one squirrel, but no camera on me! It was just a privilege to see him. I thought all the little characters in your continent were greys.

Great shot, looks like you are right on top of him. Great colour and exposure and very sharp. Great shot Dave. Our leaves don't seem to have turned colour as much as yours. We haven't had any frost yet, don't know if that makes a difference, my Maple in the back yard is still green.
