nice portrait, must be an eagle, not sure, however nice catch!! i have seen article in paper in recent days that a pair of falcon nesting on a cornish of a high rise office building at New York's Manhattan district, local environmentalists and office workers are protecting the birds from being disturbed, they have blocked some of the windows with cardbord from inside and keep a watch every day from another overlooking building!! very nice gesture, no doubt!!

Lovely photo of this ferocious looking predator Alison! I for one would not want to be anywhere near that nasty looking beak if he got angry.....
My only criticism of this (aside from your already mentioned choppy feathers) is that the beak is over exposed by around 1 - 1.5 stops.. Its quite tricky to get these birds bang on as they are so dark and it fools the camera into exposing for the darkness and overexposing the highlights as a result. Even so, its a very good effort and the rest of the bird is very detailed and sharp!

Despite your doubts, your nameless bird of prey looks quite ferocious, making a very strong impression. I think you're going to out-Armando Armando, dear Alison and hope he won't be hurt when he sees this. Thank you for your very kind comments on my "Multiple autoportrait", "Reflection in Eilat" and "Against the sun." I polarized the latter photo in P.S. Best regards, Rafi
