About actually must confess the wake of the ferry across cook straight.
One maori angle on how New Zealand was formed is that Maui came fishing from Hawaiiki and using his grandmothers jawbone as a hook (she didn't die but popped it out for him) pulled a huge fish out of the sea which became "The North Island" after the Yorkshireman James T Kirk renamed it.
In crossing the cook straight on this ferry I am leaving the fish and heading for Maui's canoe, "The South Island".
Just about finished the travelogue now.
Wellington Harbour.
Was trying to follow the wake out from the boat.
