About
I cannot attach any poetry, or words of imagination to this image.

This is what I saw in the cellar of the abandoned building which stands right behind the still operating administration building. It is not a prop, and it DID freak me out.

I figured out how NOT to get caught so easily. Park in the active parking lot, grab my gear and go...like I own the place. I had no security guards tracking me, so there was plenty of "exploring time". Each floor, of each building had its' own personality. The one feeling that is consistent from room to room, is desparation...

Very creepy...I agree. I must admit, I would not have been able to stay long at this locale. Excellent job with these photos! The sepia tone is perfect for this.

Chuck, I've been on a sabatical from UF for a month, but wanted to acknowledge your kind comments. These places beg for attention, and I've found that if you are clever enough (or a crook), you can get in! When I return to UF, I will look forward to your images, which are some of the most nostalgic, and well explained on the site. Thank you, Chuck.. ..Brad

Haughtingly Beautiful. There is an abandoned Assylum not too far from my home-I do not think it would be at all possible to get in right now to get photos.

Thank you, Michael. Very kind words.. There was a quite a bit of post-processing here. I went for the "bleached", overexposed look purposely. I know what you mean about the "burned out" wall... I wanted that icy cold feel. ...Brad

Mr. Prue. This scene is devastating! Very symbolic! I?m without words! I like the sepia The only thing I can say about this is

You are an excellent photographer and I think I need to express my honest opinion in order to regard my posts as actual critiques, I think I might have hit the exposure comp to -.7 or so and pick up a little more detail in the far wall.. underexposure is easier to correct than overexposure! LOL, As far as you getting in there and getting the job done, well, you?re the man! A photographer has to bend or break some rules in order to get the shot! Like a ghost with a D70 and a vision. I think I like this one the best but I?m not sure yet.

Daniel, Your criticism is valid... perhaps the composition would have benefited from offsetting the doll. I appreciate the fact that you consider carefully, your input... it provides a basis for a fitting "thank you"! I appreciate your kind words. ..Brad

Powerful and chilling. It's only a childrens toy for heaven's sake, but you've gone and done what a good photographer goes and does - told a story, and a gripping one! Great moody work. My only criticism is that the doll might be a little too central but that's by-the-way. I keep looking at your images and thinking 'album covers' lately for some reason. Nice one mate!

I can understand why it freaked you out. The sense of menacing mood is very obvious. This is powerfull stuff, Mr Prue!

Good on ya to just walk in like that. Be careful with the security freaks, though...

like words falling on an inner ear that had been deafened by cruel events...

The vignetting, blurred edges, tone and especially the contrast level create a distinct atmosphere...

One of your best in this series,Brad...like the way you figured out how to "fit in" as your free pass to poke around...just my style!

When you rounded the corner and you were confronted with this scene, the hairs on the back of your nevck must have stood and sent chills down your spine. The disintegration is complete in every way imaginable. This is an incredible series Brad!

Linda, believe me...there were many moments walking around pitch dark corners, down hallways, navigating the rotted holes in the floors, all without a flashlight, that I felt like a big, huge chicken ____! But it was like being lured further and further into the black hole....expecting to find yet another gut wrenching sight. I'll bet you would have done the same thing. And when I got home....there was a MAJOR scrubdown! Thank you for your words of encouragement, Linda....you are always eloquent, and very kind! ...Brad

Wow Brad, I can see why this freaked you out, I think I would have had to leave the building, but I'm a big chicken..wow..really great work, the lighting, sepia tones, and vignette work really well here, and it's great to bring this stuff to light, to provoke thought, and hopefully movement...very nice documentary type work...Linda

" IN MY DEFENCE - freddie Mercury
(Clark/Soames/Daniels)

In my defence, what is there to say?
All the mistakes we made
must be faced today
It's not easy now, knowing where to start
While the world we love tears itself
apart.

I'm just a singer with a song
How can I try to right the wrong?
For just a singer with a melody
I'm caught in between with a fading dream

In my defence, what is there to say?
We destroy the love, it's our way
We never listen enough, never face
The truth
Then like a passing song,
Love is here and then it's gone

I'm just a singer with a song
How can I try to right the wrong?
For just a singer with a melody
I'm caught in between with a fading dream

Oh what on Earth
Oh what on Earth
How do I try
Do we live or die?
Oh help me God
Please help me"

ciao
