This looks like a terrific place, full of lots of pictures just waiting to be taken. I really like the texture, crisp detail and colours of the rocks. Somehow, they seem different than the beautiful scene they are framing.

How can you go wrong in the Lake District. Even on a dull day great shots are available and you've got one here Marky. The stone walling gives such a sense of scale and the framing by the trees gives perspective to the lake. Wonderful shot.

Hey ya bugga! You came all the way over and didn't gimme a call? Next time let me know when you're over and I'll take you some nice places.....

As Danny says, this is a lovely shot of the lakes and typifies what so much the lower parts of the lakes is about. Looks like you had a nice day here too (its not raining like it normally is!)

What! No northumberland? You mean you and Keith have left, so I can take some up here?

A nice granite, dry stone wall, and tree-framed moody lake scene. Excellent detail and composition, Marky. Looking forward to seeing Keith's now.

Great composition. I really like the wall of rocks in the foreground. The trees framing the image on both sides seems to bring the viewers eye to the center of the photo. Looks like a great place to take photos.

Give me a shout the next time you are passing.I like this shot the way it typifies the lake district. Unfortunately you have to know the area to Appreciate the pic.

I really like the colours in the wall in this one, a crop with just them would make a good abstract. I also like the framing of the lake but the sky and water don't quite work in my eye. I think they need to be much more blue with more colour in the trees on the far shore, perhaps the same shot with a clear sky would work better.
