About	This was shot in the Lake District as I was climbing Blencathra. I noticed this shot as I was looking back towards Derwent Water. Ray of light on a very cloudy day!

This reminds me a bit of my "Northumbrian Bliss", Lorraine. In particular, the clouds. But being at the same latitude in northern england, the light would be similar.

Were you tempted to bring out the valley detail? As it is, it gives a sense of mystery, blending into the surrounding mountains.

I love this effect and one sees it so rarely. I like the darkness of the landscape except for where the rays hit the hills. Foreboding and dramatic.
