About Very old piece of farm equipment that, I believe, was used to plant the seeds. Peoria used to be a farming community - growing some of the finest cotton, corn, a variety of beans, and other vegitables. Not sure what the age is on this piece of equipment - but I believe that it dates back to the early 1920's. Perhaps someone out there knows. An old wagon is in the background and these are just a few of the many pieces of farm equipment that are part of a static display at the Peoria Arizona Historical Museum. Thought about doing this in black and white, but decided not to do so.

Thanks Michele - but Don sent me an e-mail with this done in sepia. Very effective and really gave an aged look to the shot. Liked them both. Jan

Thanks Darlene - Can you believe that Don Loseke operated one of these. I am sure he had to have found the center of gravity long before the south 40 was planted! Jan

Thanks for the info Don - did you use a cushion on that seat? Sure doesn't look comfortable. Hard work for sure. Jan

You are about right with 1920's. I have used some about like this when I was young...... We planted corn with ours in the late 30's early 40's. It was pulled with a team of horses. Nice work . Don.

Thank you Mary. Do wish all the pieces that are on display were not quite as bunched up as they are. Difficult to get individual shots. Jan
