Hi Ron,
I totally agree on the darkness. At the time I posted this image I didn't know much about levels and curves. I would do this differently now for sure! Thanks for the comment, I always appreciate input.
Cheers! Susie

Excellent pose.... appropriately named as well. The tones are a touch dark on my monitor(cheap work unit). It must be the sephia that darkens the image. Regardless, it is a beautiful shot. The image flipping dialogue was interesting too. I would think that that comes down to personal preference too.

This is a lovely portrait. It's funny though, if you hadn't said she was playing a game, I never would have guessed it from this expression!

I think all of your children portraits are great. I especially like this one because of its candidness. The selctive focus draws me immediately to her gaze.

Hi Glenn,
Don't mind at ALL you playing with the images. You're right, that's how we learn. Thanks for taking the time.
I don't understand what you mean "closed it up some", I was looking for a crop, but can't detect it. (??)
As far as the flip, I think you're right. I think it is slightly more pleasing to the eye. I have never thought to flip an image. Duh! I'll try to keep that in mind.
Thanks so much for the tips!

Hi Ahmed,
I am a great fan of filters. However on this one I think I just used a soft focus and converted it to sepia. (I can't always remember what I applied to what!) Thanks for looking!

Are you ever right, Suz...this gal is beautiful! LOVE THIS! You got the tones just right! I wouldn't have thought of it, but maybe Andre is right...leaving out the about might have added even more mystery. Aren't comments great? Always give you something to think about.

That is amazing, I had just pulled up this photo and received a message about a comment. I think kids are amazing, this is a great photo and I could look at it for hours, just daydreaming about what she could be thinking. Beautiful photo and beautifuly little girl. Sadly enough, while I was posting a note, my internet went down

Hi Susie,
A very strong portrait. Like many people have stated the deep thought comes through in the expression. I'm wondering if in this case it might have even been better to leave out the "about" section. (to provide some mystery?)

it seems she is drowned completely in her inner ocean and on the outside she is hardly connected with the viewer. while shooting this image i feel she must be unware of you presence susie.
