I know why you took this, Judi. I felt the same when I took the falcon for my, "Captive Nobility". But these animals are usually very well cared for nowadays, in large parks, and have known nothing else.
A fine emotive image - 7.
ps - you've posted so many since I went off on holiday, it's going to take me days to view 'em all!

Jailer,bring me water! I'm a lio,not a murder!I don't want to live behind a cage,in a jail. Very sad this one but,otherwise,humoristic too. Antonio.

Nahhhhhh....he was only four foot from me and that wire was the only thing between us.
And I wasn't scared in the slightest. I remember a dog came by and one of the lionesses through herself on the wire trying to get to the dog...unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get the shot.

It reminds me of Hannibal Lectar in "Silence of the Lambs". You can feel the resentment and anger this lion has inside him. Wouldn't like to be too close if he actually got out of there. Cheers, Ann.

It's great image dear Judi but the subject is dreadful! I love nature but our role save the animals. My heart is so sad beacuse poor lion is caged. It's so sorrowful reality. Thanks for sharing! Remind me we will be humble souls. Best wishes! Robert

Ahh yes I agree. These lions are performing lions so these conditions are only temporary conditions....but even so I felt he looked sad.

You are exactly right Tim. If you can't feel anything from a photo then it isn't a good photo. Each photo will mean something different to everyone so there is no right or wrong about how an image is meant to make you feel.
Thanks so much for commenting and telling me how you felt when you saw this image.

I felt like that awhile ago .... but I just threw everything in a storage area and drove off into the sunset.....going on 5 weeks and still ticking. Sorry about the self proclamation your photo just brought out how trapped we feel sometimes. Isn't that what a GOOD photo does for us? Great image ... it inspires me not to get that way again...ha-ha
