Thanks for all your recent comments Gayle - I know I?ve been slow responding. I took these shots outside in natural sunlight and the water for each shot was only in the glass for a few seconds, before being chucked away and the glass wiped clean. I must have taken nearly 200 and still not got one I was totally happy with. This was about the best but I did notice the specks - I?ve no idea where they came from. I decided to post this anyway to see if it got a positive reaction, in order to decide whether it?s worth pushing on with this concept (or cleaning up the specks?) Couldn?t find the Stephan you were referring to, though. AJ

hi, i like these kind of swirling abstracts and blue is a fave for me...there is some noise or dust? on the foreground part but maybe the glass had specks?...don't know if you ever saw Stephan Engstrom's (think that is last name?)work with ink,but it is worth checking out in his portfolio as looks like very wispy smoke....yours reminds me of ectoplasm! ;> thanks for recent comments and again for checking in on Dune pooch...regards,gayle

Ha ha - if you saw how many of these I took you'd understand why I used water and not vodka! The patterns were only there for a few seconds, then it was down the drain and a refill for the next attempt...

Excellent abstract John, at first I thought it was blue colored smoke. I love the sense of movement from the ink and the different patterns it can create by just staring at it. Great shot!
