About I was able to position this deerfly so I could get a good wing shadow but still get the facial features. These flies have irridescent red and green eyesn and pack a powerful bite. You can even see his piercing mouth part.

Wondering what a 1/2 hour spent digitally removing the black specs would to to the photo.
Definately a hard to do photo. The shadow makes it.
