This image I had actually thrown in the bin...but dragged it out later to see if I could apply some effects. I did apply some effects to some duplicate layers and then changed them to blend modes and this was the result. The original was only a test shot for lighting so it wasn't meant to be anything spectacular...LOL!!

Stanislaxski's method, isn't it? identification of the actress with the character....I simply ADORE this kind of effect in shots (glow)...and more I love her..I mean the way she's portraiyed here...See you!
PS: don't take it for granted anyone can take landscapes...yours' have something special about them, of course you're lucky living down udner but each siongle shot for me is really magic.

No actually I didn't. This one I had actually thrown into the rubbish bin but decided to see how it would look with some effects. So I put it through Optikverve on Reminiscing and then turned it to a screen blend layer. And voila.

Thanks Bryan. I actually did that once before. I got some photos of my dad from the ages of young boy to old man and put him as a young boy in front of a mirror. Then I animated it so all the other images rotated in the mirror showing him growing old.

Hahahaha....you are the only one to mention that. For that, I will let you in on a little secret. This was a test shot, handheld. The exposure was too dark. The later shots were correct but I really liked her pose and expression in this one as it was straight after she told me something very dear to her.
I was going to bin it and even had it in the recycling bin. But then I though I would try something....and it worked. The discolouration, although dull, seems to add something different to it.
I hope you now understand why I went with it.

First of all, yeah....anybody can take a landscape. And why if it's so easy, don't theirs, look like yours?? Don't be bothered by those comments. Your landscapes are filled with juice and glory.
This shot, in its' highkey style, effectively isolates the subject, and leaves no doubt that her memory is a good one. This is different, and quite nice, Judi!

very cool Judi, and yes anyone can take a landscape... not everyone can turn it into something so feeling as to produce and emotion in someone... like you do...
oh oh, you know what would be kinda cool and i know your just the wiz to be able to do this... is if the woman in the foreground were and old woman and the woman in the mirror was the young one... or vice versa... very cool thought anyway!!

I really like the color treatment, it gives a retro feel to the photo -- and the angle you chose gives it a good sense of depth. This portrait shows your wide array of skills behind a camera, great work. And sure anybody can take a landscape, but I think it takes a lot skill and dedication to produce amazing landscapes such as yours.

This is definitely a wonderful capture Judi, the hight contrast is wonderful and the look in here eyes adds lots of flavor.
If the table in front of her shows a Christina Dior perfume, this would make it a wonderful advertisement capture :) it fits many categories, it is really wonderful,
To be net picky with you :)
I would say there is only one thing in regard to the back of her hair, there is a place where the hair color doesn't match the rest,
This is of course my humble opinion,
Beside that, it is more than wonderful and definitely a wonderful capture,
