its cool cause the ant looks SILVER (as does the coin) in this b+w, the way you have it all lit and the texture. thats my favorite part. do you htink if you toned it sepia-ish, it would look like a copper ant?

true, the coin does show the size of the ant, and i didnt realize at the time a nice little anticapitalist type statement worked its way in without me realizing it, but so what, i'll lay claim to it anyway, hehe~

Christian, I think Terry was just using the coin to mostly show the size of the ant. The title just says that the ant was already dead, Terry did not do it in. Very good macro Terry!

Am I stupid if I don?t see the symbolism here?

The way the shot was taken, have I no complaint. It is very well executed in this case, maby little to centred for my taste.

see money is the root of evil and responsible for death
lol
great shot just needs a little more contrast
have you tried a darker ant?

Thx Kim and Ryan, the extension use was 70mm, so this is a little past 1:1 magnification (formula is: focal length/extension) so whether u used extension tubes, or a macro bellows, the magnification is the same. (ex if you used a 200mm lens with 50mm of ext thats 1/4x.) 50mm is the lens of lenses for me, beautiful glass~

I've seen this too many time not to comment... this is very creative and has such great detail! DO you remember what magnification the tubes were that you used? Love it!
