About Well, I managed to get a suitable-looking sky for my fur coat shot. What do you think?

(Please keep in mind I had two tasks: reveal the fur in its full length and be sure the museum was recognizeable in the background (the photo going in their magazine).

Gosh!
No, I don't mind, Sally. Photography is such an ethereal, subjective art that I'm always open to suggestion. You did a very good job of cloning out the trees, too!

Again, thanks.

I think the model and fur look really good - but the background is a bit distracting (I know it has to be there though!) - I had a play at getting rid of the trees and other bits of greenery - hope you don't mind!

The model and the coat look great. I agree regarding cloning out the shine in her shoes and, like some others, think the image needs a slight rotation to the left. Ltherwise, nice work!

You are SO right.
I'm gonna leave the shiny thing behind her as it is a recognizable dynamic sculpture, but those shoes have no right grabbing attention, if even for a second. Thanks, Mark.

Dear Paul, OK, Here's the coat. So, since this is going to be seen by a lot of people (some that might want you to do some future work for them) I'm gonna get real picky since "You never get a second chance at a first impression". This is in a particular order (most important things I would do first, second, etc) What popped out at me was the FLASH shine on her black shoes / pumps. I would clone out all the 3 or 4 white reflection spots by taking some from black area's of the shoe's and putting them over those shine spots. If nothing else just do this so your fill flash is totally natural. Second, that blue / white / gray thing on the grass behind her - what is that? It distracted me so I would clone it out.(maybe that little palm tree behind her back) Third, I would clone out that bit of hand so it looks like her right hand is also doing what her left is doing. Last, that brown thing in the backround on the left - I just think you have to keep the backround as plan and simple as possible. The Coat looks great, the Model does also with a nice expression and pose. The sky's fine now. All in all a really 99.9 % perfect shot. Should definitely get you more work. Bravo my friend, Mark

Paul, You might want to check this yourself in your image editor but I thought the photo could use a slight counter-clockwise rotation. See the columns and gutter pipes. The fur is showing great. It's an excellent shot with a perfect sky. Thank you for your comment on mine.

When has your opinion EVER been humble, hmmmm?

;)
Thanks for the tweak, Jim.

Were your ears burning tongight? I was telling Mark Julian what a great evening we had in Chicago.

In my humble opinion... crop that bulb off to the left. It competes with her head as main object of attention. Crop just to the top of the museum roof on the far left.
