About Second upload of the wedding I did yesterday. I'm looking for feedback before I save and print. With this one, I'm wondering if it would be better in B & W?? Thanks

here are the 2 sites. the one I was talking about was melancolytron on flaming pear but you really have to watch so you sdon't overly use any of them or the photos start looking cheesy rather than WOW! But you can download the trial and it gives you free rein with it for about a month! Good Luck! Tracey

Angela~ I agree with Louise except my blur of choice is motion blur! and select areas with the lasso Not the whole thing! Also flameing pear has a nice filter that is fun to play with as far as going sepia which is a nice alternative and sometimes makes a subject that has a little flatter light just "pop" but it is a nice shot!!! PS is a great thing and "sometimes" makes good pictures great!

Very much posed. I just turned all these pictures in the other day and they were in love with them. It was very fun (stressful but fun)

wow, well done. did you manage to take this during the ceremony, or was it posed? If it was during the ceremony, excellent job. if it was posed, good insight, i am sure they will cherish the memory.

Thanks for the tips Dale. I'm always liking new ideas to try on a photo. Actually, this was my second wedding, but first one with a digital. The first wedding I did was with my old Pentax A3000 about ten years or so ago. It was so much nicer to have digital and feel a little more confident about the pictures I was getting.

Angela, this is a beautiful shot. I have an you could do to add some softness to it. You can add a duplicate layer, and on the bottom layer go to filters, blur, gaussian blur. Move the sliders and blur it quite a bit. So that it's still recognizable, but pretty blurry. Then go to the top layer, and use the opacity slider to adjust it, letting some of the blurred layer come through. Just enough till you're happy with the amount of softness. If you wanted to then, you could resharpen the rings, but I think they would look good with a little blur to make them kind of glow. Just my two cents worth. Looks like you did a great job on your first wedding! Congrats!

Angela in answer to your question, I used the lens flare. 'Filters - Render - Lens Flare' There are several types - so just play around attaching a shot of my grandaughter and have put a flare above her head to show a different flare. Hope this helps, guess it would work well in BW as well

Thanks Margaret, and very true about choice of color of BW being their decision. I will offer them both and let them choose.

Angela very nice, I didn't get it quite right but to give you an idea, I tried a Lens Flare onthe rings, it also looks ok it is is BW. I guess the choice of BW or colour is a lot to do what the recipients of the photo like best.

I love Louises idea too - wonderful shot but make the rings pop a little more with the blur around it a tad. B&W would be great too.

I so totally agree Kelly, that more heads are better than one, that's why I was so eager to get these up today and hear some feedback.

Louise, do you mean a guassian blur on the whole thing and then resharpen the rings or a blur on the edges of the shot only? I haven't played much with the gaussian blur so any advice woudl be awesome! And I liked doing the wedding, it was exciting, but super stressfull at the same time. I don't know if I'd do another one right away. Maybe in a year or two!! LOL

Thanks Kelly, I'll go sharpen this one up a bit. It was very nerve racking, especially during the ceremony. That was the worst and to top it off, it was only like 12 minutes long! I felt like I didn't get enough of those shots and wished there were two of me! I'm so glad I decided to take my daughter as an assistant. She really helped me out. I even threw her a camera during the ceremony and told her to just see what she gets! She actually got a couple of nice ones from a different angle than me.

Yep, I'd go black and white. If you had included the flowers in there somewhere then I would have let it stay colour. Nice hand shot. To bring it up a bit I would add some gaussian blur and then resharpen just the rings themselves a little. So how did you like doing a wedding??? where you totally stressed?

Kelly    {K:20268} 7/24/2005
i think it would look great either way.. sorry i know thats not what you wanted to hear... but it's one of those photos...lol... the only thing i would suggest is to sharpen it up a touch.. her hand just seem's a tad blurred...
great work angela.. was it as nerve racking as i think it would be?... i have one to do very soon too....
im on to your next one..

Really nice, Angela! (I should have done one of these!!)
I think a B&W of this is well worth a try.
Kind regards, Chris
