The world is so full of colour yet so many people are deprived of, or are unable to get the opportunity to appreciate "life". I hope through my street shots that those of us more fortunate may take the time occaisionally to help a few of our fellow men (and women) along our life's journey.
Debbie, yes, the man was there in the original. Firstly, I made a b/w copy of the image (see my article on Usefilm re: b/w conversion in Photoshop) then overlaid this on to the colour version on a new layer. Using the Pen tool (not the lassoo - it's not precise enough) I made an accurate path around the man, converted the path to a slection, inverted the selction then cut (which removes the rest of the b/w image revealing the colour one below).
I love the framing and composition of this photo Ray. How did you get the man turned to B&W? I know you must have used PS. Did you lasso him and change him with filters or did you add him to the photo?
