Hi John, this lake is easy to hike to. Before you get to the parking lot you will see a trailhead to the Tonquin Valley. you go down that trail for about 4 min walk and you will come to the head of the Cavell Lake that you see here. A Classic view for sure. good stuff on both sides, but this shot was taken on the left side of the lake...I have more from the right which are more unique...as you will see.

Tim If you ever think your work has no impact, consider this. Your image of the Angel Glacier inspired me to get my semi-handicapped body moving and hike up from the parking lot to the base for some images of my own. Is this the lake one sees just as you descend from the parking lot at the top? Thanks for sharing? John B

Gorgeous lighting here, Tim! The sun has set off the snow capped peak perfectly, and you've got great colour in the foreground, as well! Dave.

He's back.....
and posting some great shots. I think that most of the landscape photographs are best in the first and last hour of daylight - looks like you waited for a while. I would have left, but I think waiting eventually produces the best results.
Great composition, I think you may have had a bit of time to choose a good location (ha). No suggestions to improve.

This brings back lovely memories of our visit there. You are so dedicated, there is now way I would stand in a cloud of mozzies LOL, but it is a spectacular shot you were rewarded with for your itching. Margaret

I was going to say it is an ideal campsite...then I read about the cloud of mosquitoes. Beautiful scenery. Saving it to my favorites.
