Nice close up of this chainsaw carver. We have an annual event here with the same idea which draws a good crowd and interesting carvings.

Hi Gayle,
We are only about 2 hours north of Puyallup. We ended up buying a huge bench for our park area. Just can't leave something like this empty handed...or full walleted :)
Hello to a fellow Washingtonian! Guess we've kinda given up on summer this year, huh? More time to take photos. :)

Hi Margaret,
This was taken at a chain saw competition at the Deming Log Show. It is fascinating to see these guys and gals create things out of a piece of wood! They sell many pieces during the show, and at the end there is an auction. Lots of fun! Amazing artists.

Excellent - a very strong image. The repitition of elements (figure of the artist + figure of the statue) helps create visual interest. The background is well done - a bit of detail to suggest surroundings but not enough to pull the eye away from the central figure(s). It might be interesting to have seen the same scene from a viewpoint that would put both artist and statue in profile, one behind the other.

Cheers,

Jon
