Yes there's always compromises.

This and the 'intensity' one certainly show she's enjoying her sport, and it looks as if you are enjoying her doing it.

Bruce,
Thanks for the comment and suggestion. With this shot I was more concerned with maintaining a shallow DOF to keep the chainlink backstop out of focus and prevent it from being a distraction as I had learned from bitter experience at earlier games. I need to invest in some ND filters to let me shoot slower wide open, but for now, I need to choose the lesser of the evils...

Well captured, good focus. Might have been improved with a slower shutter speed to show a some movement in the ball and bat.
