Thanks very kindly Mary! I was really pleased that the NASA site chose this picture for an APOD, and I'm sure they probably received many, many great images of this event.
A number of people thought were convinced the clouds were aurora. The Moon's illumination can do wonderful effects.

Pierre, the clouds look almost Aurora like. The brightness of the clouds spread in one diagonal and the meteors coming from another diagonal make for a wonderful composion. Superb as always, Mr. Meteor man. May

Pierre this shot is absolutely stunning!! I love the background sky colour as it adds an almost mystical feel to the whole image!!! Yet another poster quality shot! I'll place this on my WOW factor 7 scale! I pray to one day have a shot like this myself )
