Judi, this image is definately moody, however, does not give me the blues... if this is what a sunrise down under looks like - I AM moving! it is very dreamy.. congrats!

Thanks Paul. I do use Neat Image on some of my images. This particular image also had rainfall at the time, so I left it to leave some naturalness within the image.

Thanks for taking the time to fill me in more on this issue Judi. I didn't know about the history of this rating problem but IMO the system should be set up so anonymous people, jealous or whatever, can't hit you with a 2 or 3 - at least some protection from that. I've noticed a lot of the top Photographer's, like you and many others, have there rating bars off and it just seems logical that the reason for it is people get sick of some jerks that have nothing better to do then messing with their ratings. You've said that that's your reason but I'm sure most of the people who haven't spoken up would repeat the same thing. I put up a new comment in the forum with a new solution and Patrick's got one up in the forum also. If there's nothing they - UF - can do we can all live with that but I wish Al would tell all of us. BTW, you have a very nice portfolio. A lot of great work. All the best, Mark

Super colors, now how said that you can only make a great shot when the sun is shining.... ;-D!!! Great shot, stunning view, but... sorry, I'm going to nit-pick some (and that's a first... ;-D).... a bit much of it. I think a kind of 'panoramic' crop would fit this shot very well and you loose those concrete steps as well (in such a beautiful surroundings they look out of place IMOH)... Had a go at it, hope you don't mind...

Thanks Angelo. I actually tossed up between this image and another image that I might upload another day that was closer with no foreground colour. But I ended up going with this one as I really liked the colour and felt the steps led the viewer towards the horizon that bit more.

Hi Mark. Trust me, Al reads all the comments in that thread, and as the rating issue has been dragged through the mud on many occasions, he is very aware of the issue. I have seen this problem on many photographic sites and there has never been one foolproof result.
I think Al will do everything he can to rectify the situation but probably doesn't comment to much on the situation as to not flare the whole thing up again until he can work out the best way to go. He has seen both fore and against and doesn't do the ratings this way to purposely annoy anyone...it is just an unfortunate situation that will hopefully be resolved one day.
In the meantime I think all we can do is just tolerate it and work out the best way for each of us individually and stick with it.
I read your comment on Ppdixs' image about it and yes, I was stung pretty badly and stopped ratings. I liked ratings but wouldn't allow my work to be portrayed through the eyes of a jealous person. So for now, I must just stay with CO.
I am with you Mark in your thoughts and I have been racking my brain for a solution, but unfortunately there is no foolproof way that I can think of.
I hope that makes sense.

Judi,
The blues are cetainly fantastic. I love the water and the mountains in the distance.
I do think you have included a bit too much foreground. In paticular, those cement steps look very out of place.

Hi Judi, very nice colors on this one - very unique. Glad to see you're concerned about the rating bar abuse I mentioned on Patrick's page. I put a little more info up. If you feel like it maybe you can leave your opinion on the forum if you feel like it. I left 2 comments and I THINK Al responded but he wasn't really addressing what I was talking about. I don't think he's too fond of me (even though I do like him and how he's put UF together) I'm just gonna "Let it be" even though I do think it''s an on going problem that could be easily fixed. Take care and I hope this can be fixed, Mark
