About Yosemite Falls and a meadow, taken on 16 May 2005, from a moving vehicle using the automatic setting on my camera. We were leaving Yosemite because of a mandatory evacuation of the park for flooding (see image 834179.html for more details).

Amazing capture, especially from a moving vehicle! You can almost feel the chill of the water! Great job!

Thanks for your comment, Todd. I'd much rather be evacuated for flood than for fire. Fire can strike anywhere while flood is more predictable. -- Naomi

nice shot Naomi...beautiful green tones!
very coincidental that you were evacuated for fear of flooding. when i was there as a child my family was evacuated due to forest fires! well done.

Thanks for commenting, Mark. I don't recall if we could hear the falls from this place. I took it from our moving vehicle, and I think we had a CD playing, in addition to truck noise. It was a pretty amazing sight, though. -- Naomi

but what a parting shot. Intensity of the falls, could you hear it?

Wow, that's amazing... First of all the water is amazing, there's so much of it! And second, your capture is amazing, the composition and angle is great! I love how the misty cliffs slope down and meet in the center of the frame, plus all that mist makes it look really cool.

great job at capturing this, bummer about getting kicked out though.. :)
