About This was shot using my new 75 - 300 zoom lens though a filthy hotel room window on the 19th floor of the Riviera looking west. This was cropped to emphasize the height of the clouds and mountains.

Carsten,
This wide-to-tele-image-stabilized lens ROCKS!
Take a look at this shot, hand-held at 1/20 sec:
http://www.usefilm.com/image/773760.html

I am very happy with it, and even though I've added a nifty 50 and a 70-300 to my bag, I still find myself using my 28-135 more than the others.

Spectacular scenery, great lighting situation. Good idea the vertical crop, very good result. BTW, how is the lens (the DO lens ?)

I love it...the contrast between dry desert and wet rain, between dark shadow and bright shiny light, the flatness of the desert and the undulations of the mountains...well done...Gab

Thanks, Peggy Sue!
It was pretty dramatic, and like many of these spring desert showers, it didn't last long.

No, actually the mm values I give in my Usefilm about are already carefully re-calculated with the 20D's 1.6 multiplier. ;)

It was a fairly large cloud so mightily back-lit, I could NOT resist.

Amazing.....Photograpic Capture....Paul!
I must say...a Picture of a Lifetime....7/7!!!
Althoughh you indicate 140mm....your are to Multiply this by x1.6...ie:....Eqivalent...224mm...in 35mm terms...Ha,ha,aha!!!
Best Regards:
Jeff.

Good choice on your composition, the filthy window was probably an asset. I actually really like what you did here. Kinda puts the place in true perspective. Another 7 / 7 on the Arwa rating scale. Take Care, Mark

Great light, Paul. I like the darkness at both the top and the bottom and the beautiful light rain sheen in the center - K
