About I kind of lost my appetite looking at this display....!! I guess the fishmonger thought it looked nice and inviting...!!! BTW Espada is the national fish/dish on Madeira and it's eaten with banana... funny combo but very tasty I've been told!!! Espada means sword and it's a long (almost 1 meter) silver to black deepsea fish (so no swordfish but that's what you get if you order espada in Spain... confusing... neh... ;-D).

Hi João.... my, my, you've been 'diving' in my portfolio I see and deep as well.... LOL!! Well if you say it's more beautiful I must come and have a look someday... but I'm afraid this year is a no go... I already booked a short (week) trip to New York in April and a month holiday to (West)Australia in October... so my days and my money are in short supply... ;-D!!!

A bit fishy, and I'm not convinced about the banana combination either. :)

Great abstract, I love the fact that you left the knives in the frame... espada... knife... I see where you're going with that!

Regards,
Ciprian

Being built in makes life difficult but one thing you could try is using something as a diffuser - perhaps a sheet of tissue or a layer of white handkerchief? Difficult one really.... Of course the other solution is an dSLR (I can recommend the Nikon d70 :-D )

Mmmm yes that flash...!!! I always have my 'thing' set on manual and NO flash, but it was way too dark in there to get a shot without flash...!!! Any idea how to avoid the bounce/overexposure..?? It was a stainless steel table so that didn't make it any easier and it's one of those build in flashemewhatsits.... so no way you can set it at an angle.... Open for all suggestions... ;-D!!!

What big eyes they've got, Petall!
Not very appetising though!
Best regards, Chris

Er.... I'm with you... shall we just go for a paella instead then? Or some tapas?

These are seriously ugly looking fish! Ns d those teeth....!But I guess they do make an excellent photo... :-S

Nice composition Petal, but I suspect the flash has over exposed part of the image. The knives seem to disappear into the image and it wasn't till I looked at it 3 times I saw the top knife at all. Well spotted though and er... well avoided on the menu too!

They don't look in very good condition with the skin peeling off like that.

Well, if you are going to eat dead fish, that's how they appear in the market at this stage...

Nice doc shot, Petal. You need to watch that flash bouncing back at you.
