Thanks for your complimentary comment Tamara. I circled, in an eliptical shape the park,(BTW it's actually Bryant park in front of the big library on 42nd st.)and feathered it out considerably so as not to have the transition from B&W to color look bordered or drastic, then I did indeed desaturate the balance of the image. I'm really glad you liked the result, the original shot was rather bland and uneventful in comparison. Sal

Excellent framing! What a great idea. You don't often see such tight panoramas of NYC, but I think this was a terrific idea.
Have you desaturated the buildings a bit? I really like the effect. It makes Central Park stand out, but yet it doesn't look quite like selective coloring. It's a very natural result.
(I also like how you've put this in "Beneath Your Feet", since from your vantage point, the city really was beneath you!)
