hi again, sometimes when I see a 'good sky' I just shoot it even if the forground isn't much of a picture. Then I can use my 'good skys' when I have a great shot in front of my and some serious 'gray skies' in real time. I learned this after my one and only trip to Grand Canyon..the day was a real bummer...no sky at all. I think this is a simular trick to one I read about years and years ago when I was into black and white photography...I had read then about 'canning moons' same idea..then anytime you need a good moon in a shot...etc
good luck..gook shooting

Thanks, Joe! I have been trying to get that blown out sky to look better- I took several shots from the other direction with the trees in the background that looked better, but I liked the girls position in this shot. Thanks for your efforts. I am learning PS, but wasn't able to get it to look realistic enough.

thanks Kay....usually when I get a comment from someone and I don't 'know' them... I take a peek at their photos...I didn't have much time this morning, but loved the family shot in front of the black truck...someone commented on the washed out sky... hope you don't mind that I played with your photo, but this is one thing you could do to fix shots that have this same problem.. excuse the sloppyness...only took 5 or 6 min in photoshop...but just to give you the idea..once again thanks for your comment on baby Josie's birthday photo...
