The sharp-blur effect was created in photoshop.After changing the image to B/W and doing some channel mixing I selected the 'cartwheel'area,sharpened it and burnt in some shadows.I then reversed the selection area and sharpened it just a little.Finally I lightened up the parachutes a bit.PS is a great creative tool and a lot of fun!

Hello Tony. This is a great find, nice blurr from things out of field but also that flat area of detail within focus have staisfying form (cartwheel like), and the fine shadows on this area also add interest.
Really quite an odd effect when there is so much within focus and so much outside it as well.

I don't know how you get the camera to actually focus this close in! Excellent capture here Tony. The detail is amazing.
