Aha, so this is taken looking down into the "bottle"? Fascinating. Thanks for the explanation. I would never have guessed. I thought it was some kind of flat disk that was rotated by a stream of water but I couldn't think how that would be accurate enough for time keeping.

Dear Roger , consider it as a bottle of water with a small hole at the bottom , and there is 12 level indicators ( represnted by the black dots on the image ) , it was designed on the way that the water level drop to the next indicator every hour , they was refill it twice a day .

Great shot Galal and very nice hint about Pharonic histoy .I would also add thit this watch ws developd later to the sand watch which was very popular in Europe in the Middle Ages .A lot of pharonic secrets have been discovered but there are still a lot which have not been revealed reveald yet.
