Nice shot, Julie. A leaping salmon would have been the icing on the cake! Best regards, Chris

An excellent shot, Julie! We call them fish ladders here. We have one upriver from our property in Northern Michigan, and we love to go watch the salmon jumping in the fall (and catch a slew while we're at it!). Ours is about 4 or 5 feet high, and it's really something to see such a powerful, 30 pound fish swim against the current and jump that high!! One of the most spectacular things we've done is take the kayaks up the river during the height of the coho run, when the fish are so thick in the river, you could practically walk over it! We were literally paddling through a solid mass of fish, and when one jumped over the bow of my yak, I nearly peed myself!!! Wish I'd had my camera back then!!
Anyway, it's lovely to see that we actually have this wonderful annual event in common, and your capture of your fish "jump" is fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
