Thanks Maggi. I find stormy skies and abandoned structures the most interesting to photograph. I used to work almost exclusively in B+W film, but now I am finding the digital works really well in some cases. By the way, welcome to usefilm.com.

his is a very appealing photo..you have caught the loneliness of the abandoned farmhouse perfectly. The dismal sky, the leafless trees of a bleak wintry day all lends to the alien beauty of this photograph. It really appeals to me...

Thanks Gord. The photo really does not do the location of this house justice. It may need a lot of work, but as the "BareNaked Ladies" say .... " If I had a million dollars, I'd by you (I mean me)a house." This was an unusual shot for me in that it was taken at about 11:00 A.M. When shooting in B+W, I always avoided mid-day times. So as Alanis says, "You live, you learn." I guess I'm feeling somewhat patriotic today.

Hi Richard, I really like the lighting on this shot! The dark clouds really bring out the subject! This shot reminds me so much of my Grandfather's farm house it's not even funny. He lived in the Carleton Place (Ont) area. Nice job! Thank you for your comment as well on my bus stop photo.
Cheers Gord

Wow, I could look through your portfolio for hours. This one is quite special because the sky is just fantastic. There is a sense of bleakness demonstrated by the defoliated trees and the clouds. Great atmosphere.

Thanks Chris. Hard to say what shape it is in. I do not trespass to get my shots, I really don't know what the owners face to renovate. In Canada it is often easier and cheaper, to just start over.

It's a shame to think of this farmhouse being deserted, Richard. Nice shot. Best regards, Chris

Thanks Mary, I was thinking the same thing. There has been some activity recently, but I don't know if the owners are contemplating a reno or a demo.
