About Every path I went down, had graffiti on the trees, I don't know if it hurts them but it seems to be part of nature now. :)

personally,i don't like people writing in the trees,
but i like this picture,
it's a good demonstration of how some peoples may be stupid!
I don't understand what kind of pleasure they can get for.
BTW here in Italy, we has the same situation, and in some religious place you can see:
If you believe, pray here
if you don't believe, admire it
if you are stupid, write your name here.

take care Alison

What a shame that people do't understand and respect nature and her beauty.

Armando's version cracks me up! Great capture of this graffiti'd tree... It does seem to be a common phenomenon (and the tree does recover). At least its better than aerosol paints on concrete walls!

Excellent composition and colors, dear Alison. I think the phenomenon is universal. I once wrote my name on a newly laid conctete cover of something, taking great care to used my best handwriting, which is usually lousy, when I was rudely interrupted by one of the workers with a slap on my face for "ruining" his work. I think I was 10 years old at the time.
Thank you for your kind words about my "Figures 1, 2 and 3."
Best regards,
Rafi
