Yes! Great capture. Very well waited, even against subject agression...

You are right: if your eyes can see it, so should the camera. Perhaps one thing you could have done in-camera to enhance this, would be to use a polarising filter to cut off some of the reflections from the water.

Once again: great shot!

Thank you very much for your kind words about my portfolio. You put a smile on my face when you mentioned the clarity of the water. Couldn't control that...And usually swans feed near muddy bottom which is where the food is. If it had been sunny the sky would have reflected on the water making it blue, but then I think that you capture the head under water I would have had to overexposure the body of the swan. Though choice. Cheers, Andree

Hi Andree,

First let me say that I have looked at your portfolio and I find it very impressive; thanks for commenting on my image.

I think you have done a fine job with this one, an unusual and very interesting capture of a swan. Love the clarity of the body, the composition, but this picture would have been just perfect if you had the water clearer and bluer; in my humble opinion at least.

Regards,
Ciprian

Thanks John. I watched him for a long time and decided that if my eyes could see his head under water, my camera would. It was just a matter of waiting for the right moment and of course trial and error...Cheers, Andree

Well Salvatore, this swan was cooperating in a very aggressive way. He definitely asserted his dominance over his turf... Thank you so much for your comment. Cheers, Andree

Oops...I forgot you couldn't read my answer... Thanks Cheryl. I loved the change. This new version is the result of your help. I did what you've said. Went into levels and adjusted each color channel. Again thanks a lot my friend. Cheers, Andree

Excellent. How did you feel about the changes? Since you took off the last shot, here's my previous (edited) remark:
Don't know how you'd improve this - the ability to see the swans head under water is amazing. They don't usually like company when they eat under water. :)
