City - Death Valley State - Country - United States
About
I took this picture a good few years back and I have always loved it. My enthusisasm for it hasn't always been shared though. I sort of imagine it to be like the spiral arms of a distant galaxy though it is of course simply sand sculpted by wind. Light was essential in revealing its quality and I am equally glad the shape is not overpowered by a deep blue sky. Death Valley, USA. Please do take a look at my website at www.transientlight.co.uk and at www.timecatcher.com
i've never thought of visiting death valley, but just today i've seen a few photos taken in that area and now i have the desire to get there as soon a si can. however, there are other deserts in asia closer to where i am at the moment, so another time for death valley i suppose.
this image is very simple, and in fact, it looks as if noone has set foot on those dunes for ages. however the shifting of sand would cover tracks made only minutes before, as we all know. a bit more of a blue sky would be nice but we deal with the conditions we are given.
your portofolio is very nice ian. i will also spend some time looking at your other sites and see what is of interest there.
