Mary - having other eyes look at what you've done helps. Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees, and miss things that could have made a good picture better. Sort of an objective point of view.

Janice, I am afraid I am not much help to others as I really don't know the techniques of picture taking or PSing or whatever. So, I can't offer many suggestions. All I can go on is what I find appealing. I suppose, in the end, after utilizing all the techniques, etc, that is what photographers are hoping to do---appeal to others. Mary -

Hey Mary - Freud would have had a field day with your comment. Just kidding - I knew what you meant. Thanks for commenting on my photos - I really appreciate all of the helpful suggestions and help that I have been getting from the usefilm photographers. Help that you probably couldn't get from classes - unless the instructor was well-versed in all cameras - all types of photographic styles - and PS or similar software on top of that. I mean - there are some incredibly talented and very knowledgeable photographers out in this little world that are more than willing to give their time to help out. Much appreciated by me for sure. Have a good one. Jan

Yes, good thing you weren't driving in this--it looks pretty ugly. I mean your picture is a good capture of ugly weather and thunder clouds. Mary -

Great PS work David and I really like it. I had played with PS too, (not as well as you did) and decided that while it made the clouds and lighting more dramatic it didn't "tell the story" of what was happening the way the original did. That afternoon the sky started getting really ugly. The clouds kept getting darker and darker, thunder was rolling and lightening was flashing all around. That little patch of blue sky and the lighter clouds that are in the picture were gone just minutes after this picture was taken. This was one really powerful storm. But I really do like what you did with PS. I am still learning how to use the program. Guess I need to break down and take a class or something. Thanks for taking the time to help out. P.S. - like your portfolio.

wow, I love those clouds! Amazing light here. I think a little more contrast would make it more dramatic. I played a little with it in PS. Let me know if you like it.
