Your use of the square format and framing adds to the "comfort zone" portrayed in the photo... Suggestion: A warmer tone (like sepia) would further enhance this great shot..

What is it about Labradors and kids? When the world seems a terrible place a Lab will always be there to look at a child and say, "Don't worry, I'm still your friend."
