Hi Paul, awesome shot! Love the tones and the decaying atmosphere that surrounds this photo. Very well composed, and congratulations on winning the photo contest! Good luck with your 20 D!

Cheers,

Thanks, Amy.
I hope to go back this weekend to spend more time there. it was cloudy that day, so the lighting for texture and detail was quite tasty!

Paul this is a great shot, this building is full of color and lines and character. I'm surprised the building has survived. Very well seen indeed. Amy

Yeah, and big businesses wouldn't bother with REAL tile-work this ornate, either.

I agree completely, Erik.
(so, what's a metaphor?) ;)

Thanks for stopping by. This camera is like I just awoke from eye surgery! It's amazing!!

Signs of the past. What we need is more small business operators, maybe they could shape up the big corps into lowering their gas prices. This is what big business leaves with, boarded up buildings. Don.

Paul,
The detail is important here. The bricks contrasting the tile work is striking. A metaphor perhaps for muddling through life, cheaply covering over the transgressions of the past.
nice!!
Erik
