This is what you shoot out of? How can your cmaera lens see or focus thru this? The adapter at the side covers the flash? I still don't understand. Do you have a pic of yourself taking a picture? I can make one but I don't know how to use it.

A superb shot, Domjan. Great focus and two insects instead of one always adds great value and a great new dimention to a photo. Possibly 1/2 a stop extra exposure (midtone), but I also like the (overall) low-key shot... Well captured.

I found what you told me about, on saturday it is comeing, I hope so, I depend on my friend, so you know that at least it coast about 10+$ here, only the lens, what of did is buildong a hoe for the lens that it could be attached on the lens. Thank you, Margaret for your comments! I am glad you like my macro shots :)
This is how my homemade macro setup currently looks like. I have totally disassambled a 50mm f/2.8 non-SLR photo lens and taken only the lens assembly. Even though such a lens can be bought for less then $5, it's extremely sharp and well color-corrected (in fact, it outperforms almost all commercial macro lenses costing 50X more). The adapter is also DIY, made from a plastic top of a deodorant bottle :) The silver paint matches perfectly the color of my 3MP digicam. :)
When you shoot an extreme macro, lighting becomes a big problem. The built is flash is useless as it is far too strong and also obstructed by an addon lens and you often lack enough natural light to shoot at f/8 and 1/100s. People usually solve this problem by using a macro ring light or an external flash but, for me, that was far too expensive. So I have built a simple flash guide/diffuser that provides adequate lighting using the built in flash. The whole macro setup is extremely light (about 20g) and compact, so it's very easy to handle. I am getting a macro area just 17mm wide, sharp from edge to edge without any chromatic abberation! Not bad considering I have spent $0 building it :) I hope to show that you can easily get good macro performance without spending a lot of $$$.
