Lydia - here is a copied and pasted quote from the UF FAQ "What are Photo Projects?":

"Please note that the point of the projects is to go out and do them, not to search for older photographs that fit into the project. A project is considered successful whenever you learn something new in the course of doing it."

OK, it's not a "rule" as such...

Yes Ed, it's a lovely shot fully deserving of some sort of award, and it's great to have seen this on the front page (for quite some days now...) But I have to agree with Gayle, although ultimately it would perhaps be better if this was made clear on the front page along with the project description. This suggestion has also been made in the forums, but since the discussions there don't seem to have had any effect, it's perhaps time to move them elsewhere, like to image comments.

OK, end of rant - sorry it was your image that got it, Ed!

Lydia Nel...is this YOUR image and not Ed Krebs?...didn't your pal,Phil tell you where staff/mods and many of us donors all agreed that new project meant new images?....i never said archival shots were not allowed...where did you get that notion???...what staff/mods agreed in donor forums is that images previously posted at UF were not allowed to be rolled over with new project name.....get it now?...you are very transparent...btw, you should re-read what i wrote to the photog of this image again...or is this just another alias for you???

Gayle - the forums are a muddle of information, often hijacked by conversation seekers and therefore avoided by many - if you can tell me where this actual rule is written, not allowing archival shots, then I'll consider your remarks to be fair; otherwise, this image is superb and deserves the award.

hi,i like this shot because of the subject matter and the hand-coloring...it is charming,

BUT
the mod who awarded this a current project BIP didn't check the date...there have been numerous forum discussions where staff/mods and many members agreed that when a current project is listed,we are to only post images that have not been previously posted here....the idea is to shoot for the new project as a challenge, but archival shots are allowed,too....this way it is a level playing field for all members...

i agree that this shot deserves recognition, just not for this project since it was previously posted months back....
regards,gayle
