Quite a stunning picture. I never really appreciated B&W before. However, pictures like yours make me understand why it is a powerful manner of expression. Thanks for commenting on my Follow the Leader picture. I live outside Ottawa, Canada's capital. I am fortunate to have ralatively decent skies. Yes, Orion stands very proudly in our sky (45 N) during the winter months. He is now bowing out so the summer constellations can take over. We don't see some of the constellations that you would. I have some good shots of Orion alone, but not with the Moon. I was lucky with the Follow the Leader shot as Jupiter was very bright and showed up well. To try to get the Moon with stars, I have the same problem you do, long enough exposure to capture the stars means this overexposed, overpowering Moon. With Follow the Leader, the Moon's light was partially hidden by the trees. I am very stubborn, though, so I will keep trying to see if there is a way. I suppose people who use PS a lot would just say cut and paste. But, I don't have PS and I'm still too much a purist to do that with my sky. Good luck, Mary -
