Dottie. I am showing my age. In the early 50's Buick's had fake exhaust ports in the hood. Three ports in some models but expensive models had 4. Because they were fake a lot of jokes were made about the possible uses they might serve. I think they dropped that style in the mid 50's but maintained chrome decoration in place of the ports for a few more years. See the attached models below which are early 50's. Del.
