About a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley

Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory,
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.

Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the beloved's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

My Mother would always show me photos of my Father in his younger days, and say " See why I was crazy about him?" Can't fault her there, he was a handsome devil, and never lost his looks or his head of thick hair. :) I obviously didn't take this photo, but fixed it up in Photo Shop & restored it a bit. My father's birthday would have been next month, maybe that's why he's on my mind! :)

Ah, I'm not the only one thinks he looks like Elvis. NEver met the guy (Elvis that is) but if I met your Dad I could have mistook him for EP.
Del's a fountain of info ain't he? I never knew what he's put up here.

Dottie. I am showing my age. In the early 50's Buick's had fake exhaust ports in the hood. Three ports in some models but expensive models had 4. Because they were fake a lot of jokes were made about the possible uses they might serve. I think they dropped that style in the mid 50's but maintained chrome decoration in place of the ports for a few more years. See the attached models below which are early 50's. Del.

Ohh Dottie - this is a great shot of him too. The looking up makes you feel like a young child looking up to her idol - I feel like I'm you here looking and reading the about. Splendid story. I see a lot of you in him, all that pride shows right through in you.

The haircut goes well with the date of the old Buick. Brings back memories of "Greasy Kid Stuff" and the old trademark "Holes" of the Buick. Del.
