January, thanks for the comments..:) Your suggestion about taking the shot at eye level is good! Unfortunately there was a couch in the way, so I had to do it from above. One of these days, I'm going to set up a room or a part of room specifically for photography so I don't have to keep working around toys, furniture, etc...(!)

canon 1.8/50mm has probably the best quality/price ratio of them all. beautiful photo. please take a shot from the level of her eyes or below to show the light reflections in her eyes. it is always good to photograph children at the window because they stop moving for a while :) best regards jt
