About Shot this one at Nantahala Falls, also known to some as Lesser Wesser rapid, on the Nantahala River. I was there this past October for the Nantahala Outdoor Center's annual Guest Appreciation Festival (GAF), a quirky gathering of outdoor adventurers that's part retail sale, part swap-meet and part party. Good times.

This is an excelent shot, could you imagine it printed like Ansel Adams pictures! The tonal range is awsome and it seems extreemly sharp. Great work.

Robert this is one of my favourites from your inspiring portfolio! The composition and crop is so strong. Beautiful in black and white and wonderous to look at. You are so talented!

The techs are pretty straight forward Erik. I sometimes forget that all the data is saved when shooting RAW.

ISO 200, f/36, about 1 second exposure, circular polarizer, about 72mm focal legnth. I use the RAW functions in PS to control saturation, shadows and contrast. B/W conversion done with 2 hue/saturation layers, image flattened, levels tweaked, a jpg copy saved and finally sharpened, in this case just the rock was selected and sharpened using lab color and the lightness channel. Thanks for your interest.

Excellent work, Robert - good strong composition, and wonderful contrasts. It works well in black and white, too. :)

Beautiful b+w. I love the long exposure here. It would be nice if you could include some more tech info if possible.
Thanks,
Erik

Great tones - this really has the feel of a fine black and white fiber print - K
