That's fascinating! Thanks Joggie! I really didn't know that. Do you perhaps know what kind of a bug is this: http://www.usefilm.com/image/685852.html

Great image Domjan! This is actually not a grashopper but probably a member of the insect family Cercopidae, commonly known as spittle bugs or froghoppers. "Spittle bugs" for the nymphs living in a ball of spittle often seen between the grass leaves. The spittle is produced by mixing air with copiuous amounts of anal secretions they produce from plant sap and is a means of protections against the environment and predators. Kind regards Joggie

Bravo Domjane, jako mi se dopada. Cini mi se da na slican nacin posmatramo prirodu kroz objektiv. Uzgred, na slici nije skakavac vec mala cikada, sto je naravno najmanje vazno kad je snimak ovako uspeo. Ako zelis mozes posetiti moj sajt (www.naturefg.com)sa mojim fotografijama prirode.

Unfortunatelly we don't have that here, our market is small, my city is also small "200,000", all palestine 4 million, if I were in Ukraine I would find many stuff, espicially in Kharkov, the city where I was born.

Actually a full SLR lens is an overkill. I used a lens from a non-SLR film camera. Here you can buy such a (extremely old and usually non-functional) camera for about $5. Try visiting your local market.

Actually yes, but my friend is in the USA and I need to wait him until the summer, he have the same lens you are talking about, full manual and max ap. 2.8, 50mm and 50mm filter, I think this is just perfect. About the blue you are talking about, it appears if I zoom on 4X+, but what I really like the colors, with me they are dim, no pumping as yours. However I will search, I admit macro is very intersting and difficult.

Thanks Kareem! You have a S1 if I remamber correctly? It might work if you put the build in lens to a maximum zoom position (otherwise you are bound to get obstruction from a addon lens as it is not 'fast' enough). But you will have an extremely narrow DoF (1mm at most) but with extreme magnification (far more then what I am getting). Can't you borrow such a lens from a friend/neighbour yust to try it out?

extreme sharpness, Very good. I found a Zenit 50mm 2.8 lens, it is quiet cheap, does it work?
