The Irish space program finally gets off the ground! Not a rocket but the first frame of a lage Chiense firecracker about to explode. I had eight of them and missed all but two fo the explosions. The 20D would run out of frames at the inevitable moment. It was very frustrating. But I did get a couple of shots. The deafening explosion was only outdone my my swearing. Of course I only realised later that if I had taken JPG shots I could have gotten more frames into each burst. Live and learn. Shot with 3200 iso turned on to get a fast shutter speed.
Ah what we do in the pursuit of knowledge or art! A long time ago I lost a good percentage of my hearing trying to photograph exploding firecrackers using sound to trigger the strobe. Not one good frame, it was in the days of tri-X and single shot cameras. Thanks for carrying the science forwards. - JB
