Thanks for your help and advice with photographing flowers, I shall try putting your suggestions into practise and I'll post the good results I get. I can see what a difference cropping has made to this photo.
Thanks again
David

very nice image. I'm undecided about the elaborate frame. My first reaction was that I like it, but I'm wondering if maybe it is 'too' much and distracting from the image.

cheers,
nicole

Excellent detail. You can see the cracks in the wood of the branch. The way the light works it almost looks like a painting.

Thanks for your wonderful comment. I also like how this turned out. After cropping to an almost square image I applied a faded edge Mask around the flower. Created a new BLACK square image and framed it with this frame. I played with the resizing of the framed area and then I pasted the Masked Flower in the black area as a new image. The flatness of the frame and faded mask seem to give the effect of depth or shadow box. It really did not take too long, maybe 30-45 minutes at the most.

Thanks again for your comment.

Peter, you have a wonderful ability to isolate the important part of the photograph - an excellent talent! Very pretty presentation too. Amy

The leafs seem to be the protectors of the flower. Pretty framing and beautiful photo. Congrats!

This is so pretty. I like the original but can see why you went for the tight crop. Great macro.

Very nice Peter, and the framing is really good. I have to say tho, the flower is prettier that you are, but I will vote for you anyway! CAry
