That's my vista too, although Georgian Bay is not totally frozen yet. I agree with the others about the polarizer, it does help. Don't buy a cheap one though. I have both a Hoya and a Tamron (for different lenses) and the Hoya is far superior. Here's a shot of the world's longest freshwater beach, taken last winter.

Simplicity rules here.
Have to agree with what Pat said about getting a polorizing filter, or a neutral density filter, that would help it from being overexposed.

beautiful shot audra - the perosn just emphasises the overall size!

Great emptiness can make a wonderful photo - broken up in this case by the lone man. This is a very atmospheric image.

Love the minimulistic look of the shot. So empty yet so full - sky has the greatest aray of colors (kinda like a water painting). I love doing stuff like this (but to lazy to dig up the slides - mine dosen't have snow. Just A Lot of empty space with one person in it) Great job. 3 sevens in a row - whoa !!! Mark

I love the simplicity of the composition and the shot. Nicely done.

Nope, that's a crazy man walking out there. Of course I do it all the time. I like the shot. You should look into getting a polorizing filter, if you don't already have. It may have brought out some details in the clouds and in the snow.
