Awsome shot - I love this stance with that table! Lighting part of the face adds mystery and distinction to the shot. Fabulous! Also - congrats on the FC shot! I still love that photo.
Terrence, I don't know if I would have taken this shot directly in front of a lighted window, but then again, it gives it a unique feel because that background tight as hell! Also, I would have added a little bit more light coming in from the left to show more details of his attire. I would also like to see a wider shot of this same picture to show the entire window and the two statuettes(sp?). His wardrobe and the classical style home(?) reminds me of the mansion that was used when they filmed the Matrix 2. Anyway, after looking at your portfolio, I have learned some things and gotten some great ideas. Thanks for sharing your work.
wow magizine quality? hell yea. great job terrence. this one is certainly one of the best if not the best ive seen. the pose, lighting,compo.,everthing.. are you still useing the Fairmount? i thought so. keep it up this is great.
Great image! Quite possibly the best image I've seen in the last 2 minutes!!!! Kudos to you TK... you have captivated me and held my attention long enough for me to write this critique!
A few things I might like to comment on. 1) you should have either moved the statuary in slightly so it is entirely in the frame, or backed the camera up a step. 2) crop this image so that the front edge of the frame crops off at the light stripe on the floor. Having that stripe there with a darker stripe at the extreme foreground draws attention from your subject. 3) A hair of fill light (probably easiest to get with a 4X4 fill card) to separate the guy and the desk would be nice.
