Location City -  Cranes' beach

About This is a winter scene at Cranes beach. In October, Cranes beach is open for horse riders (there are a lot of horses in the area). I've captured this shot on an unusual winter day at about mid-day. Not such a good time for light. So I scanned the slide in Photoshop and did a little manipulating to make the landscape more interesting...Hope it works...Enjoy a ride on the beach.

sometimes it is necessary to go back to a spot where the horse men go and keep shooting until you get the shot. I often revisit location just to get the right shot.

Like the shot the Kayaking sport: "Danger's Edge". It took me a couple of Summers before I got that shot. I just wanted it bad enough.

The Andalusian horses are really beautiful. I love the color of their coat.

In my shot, these horses are racing horses or used in Polo sport. The owners house them on their property and go for joy rides with them on the beach. But they are formal.

What I like about my shot, is the happy communication of the riders separate from the joy of the horse splashing in the water.

Thank you A.J. for sharing with me.

I find this image fascinating. I have one of two Andalusian horses that I have not put up because I was not totally happy with it (mainly because the riders were looking away from me - they were too concerned about the depth of the water!). But the contrast is so great - most notably in the informality (no helmets, jeans, crude stirrups - and these are good local Andalusian horsemen!)

Thank you Olga. This beach is a magical place. It is situated in the middle of a very wealthy community. Horses are kept in large fields. And they have polo on Sunday.

Thanks ... I do :) The dark sky adds to the mood here ~ lovely splashing water/reflections! I love horses and think that they enjoy this ride as well ;-)

Thanks everybody for your positive comments. And Mark, it is a moody shot because it was sort of a moody day. Warm days in Winter in New England is too warm but not warm enough...

a little "moodier" than your usual work--however, it does exhibit your customary superb compositional skills...Take care. M.

Very good capture, Andree.
Nice colors and global effect, not easy to achieve.
Well done.
