hi Carsten - thanks so much for your comments & advice regarding ps, adjusting colours. I'm keeping a folder of the advice that usefilm people have been sending me about tweaking my photos, as i have so much to learn! I'm looking forward to trying your suggestions as they sound so inline with how i would like to see this photo tweaked. Thanks, again. All the best - jennifer

Great color contrasts, indeed. I try to catch such a beauty for a while, rare occasion with nice warm backlight and an interesting winter scenery. Serges color temperature tweak is probably too extreme, I would preserve the blue shade of the snow. The only thing I would tweak is the small lens artifact on the right side, and perhaps a tad more saturation selectively for the golden light (select > color range, then in layer copy Layer > add layer mask > reveal selection, blending mode "multiply" and about 60% opacity).

Jennifer, I practically never edit separate parts of image. I dislike this and belive not right. Image shoud be corrected (not edited!) in whole, as a single object! * * * At yours shot I've change WB of ca. -500K (exactly this gives additional warm to picture) and use shadow/highlight option together with saturation increasing. * * * I like yours shots. It seems to me we have something similar in our attitude to photograph (and world:)).
Warm regards, Serge

Somewhat more spooky, but very well lit in what I think are not the easiest circumstances. Very good contrast between the warm tones and the cool blue, I agree. Not as well balanced as the previous one I commented on, but therefore not less interesting nor beautiful.
Cheers,
Hugo

hi serge...i like how you've warmed up & pumped up the yellows in the piece but i miss the deeper blues & purples that my original has in the snow. I guess what i could do is just work on deepening the warm tones & leave the cooler tones as they are, rather than working on the whole piece, as i'm guessing that's what you did. I appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
