About
I know, I know. I've got plenty of fireworks photos already. But, it's January and the weather is so dreary that I wanted to see something colorful. I apologize ahead of time. f/16 @ bulb, ISO = 100.
I'm afraid it's not long enough :)) Just kidding... I have an Olympus C-750UZ, and i'm not satisfied with it at all. I'm considering on buying lo-pro DSLR like 300D or D70... I'm sure your answer will be more than helpfull. It's always better to hear what users think, than reading all those dumb reviews on the net.
Milos, I really enjoy the 300D and picked it's CMOS sensor over the Nikon D70's CCD sensor. I almost bought the Nikon D70 because my film camera is a Nikon and its old lens would have worked; plus the D70 can take so many more rapid sports photographs in a row. The 300D will only take 4 sports/action shots in a row and this has been enough of a drawback for me that I've considered buying the Canon 20D. The low light auto focus can be frustrating at times. That said, the 300D has many great features and I've learned to adapt to its quirks. There are times when I use its presets and times when I use one of the manual setting modes. Its taken some wonderful photographs that my whole family, and lots of friends, have enjoyed. There are a lot of 3rd party lens, flash and equipment which are closer to my budget and are great with the 300D . In a way of speaking, it's more camera than I am a photographer; that is, it has many wonderful features that I'm still learning to use. And as I've said already, I've really enjoyed colors and characteristics of the CMOS sensor - which is a subjective choice. I've had it for less than a year and have taken a little over 11,000 exposures with no problems to date. With the introduction of the 20D, the 300D price has gone down and I understand some used ones are showing up on ebay. Sorry if this answer is too long but I hope it has been helpful. Thank you for writing. Rodney
